XAT Analysis and Expected Cut-off
The XAT exam format has changed a little bit this year with more questions and more time allotted for taking the test. Three sections of 105 questions made up the XAT 2023. It took 175 minutes to complete the part, which included verbal ability and logical reasoning, decision-making, and quantitative ability and data interpretation. The new section, Mock Keyboard Testing, had a 5-minute time limit and was a part of phase 2. The general knowledge portion and the essay portion, which were relocated to part 3, had a 30-minute time limit. As a result, the exam took 210 minutes to complete.
Upon reviewing the parts, it was determined that the VA questions ranged from easy to moderately difficult. The level of the logical reasoning test was similarly average. 14 points would be a respectable result in this section. In a similar vein, candidates could strive for a score of 11 marks on the moderately tough Decision Making portion. While DI was moderately challenging, QA was easy to moderately demanding. The XAT 2023 is somewhat challenging overall, and a score of 35 is excellent.

Overview of XAT 2023
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2023 was held on January 8, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The exam this year had a number of adjustments.
Three sections made up the test. The Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VALR), Decision Making (DM), and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QADI) components made up the first half of the exam. There was a total of 175 minutes allocated for answering these questions.
The second component, which was new this year, consisted of Mock Keyboard Testing with a 5-minute time limit.
There were 25 questions about general knowledge in the third section, along with one about essay writing. This section had a 30-minute time limit in total.
XAT 2023 Analysis: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning
Similar to last year, the Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning sections were scored. The section’s difficulty level was comparable to that of the XAT 2022. There were 26 questions total in the part, 12 of which, divided across 4 groups, were from the RC section. There was only one poem, and its level of difficulty was comparable to that of the previous year. Paragraph jumble questions were absent, although there was one for fill in the blanks.
The VALR sector was divided as follows:
Type of Question | No of Questions | Doable |

The one set of three questions, however, had the outdated DI-style decision-making questions. As a result, it is a little harder than last year. 15 to 17 questions is a fair number to aim for in this segment.
The split went as follows
Type of Question | No of Questions | Doable |
2 Question Sets | 4 | 2 |
3 Question Sets | 15 | 2 |
3 Question DI Type Set | 3 | 3 |
Total | 22 | 15 – 17 |
XAT 2023 Analysis: Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation
The Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation section of the exam was slightly more challenging than it was last year. There was only 1 set in the XAT 2023 as opposed to the 3 sets of DI last year. The majority of the QA questions came from maths, followed by algebra and numbers. 16 to 18 questions would be a reasonable number to attempt in this part.
What transpired was as follows:
Type of Question | No of Questions | Doable |
Arithmetic | 8 | 5 |
Numbers | 4 | 3 |
Algebra | 4 | 3 |
Geometry | 3 | 1 |
